Antes de que la cerámica se convirtiera en una tendencia para los coleccionistas de todo el mundo, se consideraba un movimiento de artesanía menor. Sin embargo, siempre ha sido una práctica artesanal cuya tradición debería de ser preservada y considerada igualmente como cualquier otra expresión artística. Cerámica Suro originalmente era un taller ubicado en Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.
Posteriormente, la empresa familiar, fundada en 1951 por Noe Suro Olivares, se expandió a medida que las demandas de clientes como arquitectos, artistas, chefs y diseñadores de interiores les solicitaron su fabricación artesanal de cerámica para diversos productos decorativos con la más alta calidad y entregados a cualquier parte del mundo.
Las industrias de restaurantes y hoteles son clientes frecuentes que solicitan a la empresa dedicada a la fabricación, comercialización y exportación de objetos útiles como azulejos, vajillas, utensilios decorativos para construir decoraciones de interiores. Sin embargo, una de las misiones importantes de esta empresa es la promoción y producción de proyectos de arte contemporáneo, trabajando con los artista más renombrados en el ámbito nacional e internacional.
Dichos proyectos se han exhibido en museos y galerías de diferentes ciudades del mundo. Es por eso que también funcionan como residencia de artistas para que usen sus instalaciones y talleres para retratar sus visiones a través de diferentes técnicas y materiales como: aluminio, acero, bronce, fibra de vidrio, madera, vidrio soplado, e impresión digital.

Originally, Céramica Suro was a workshop located in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.
Then the family business, founded in 1951 by Noe Suro Olivares, expanded as the demands from clients such as architects, artist, chefs and interior designers requested them their artisan manufacture of pottery for diverse ceramic products with the highest quality and delivered anywhere around the world.
.The company dedicated to the manufacture, commercialization and exportation of useful objects like tiles, tableware, decorative utencils are requested by the restaurant and hotel industries to build interior decorations. However, one of the important missions of this company is the promotion and production of contemporary art projects, working with the most outstanding artist in the national and international field.
Such projects have been exhibited in museum and galleries of different cities around the globe. That is why, they also function as an artist residency for them to use their facilities and workshops to portray their visions through different techniques and materials such as: aluminium, bronze, blown glass, fiberglass, steel, wood, and digital printing.
